Terms of service

By downloading, installing or using WiseGut ("the App"), you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the App.

• Photo scanning of meals and ingredient labels, with a FODMAP rating.
• A daily check-in for symptoms, sleep, water, mood, stress and notes.
• Insights drawn from your own logs, each stating how many days it is based on.
• WiseGut, an in-app companion that talks about your own data.
• Meal ideas built from recipes that rate low FODMAP.

WiseGut is not a medical device and does not give medical advice. It is a scanner and a log, for information and tracking only. Ratings, insights, and anything WiseGut says are not a substitute for professional medical advice, diagnosis or treatment. Always talk to a qualified healthcare provider before you change your diet, your medication or your treatment.

WiseGut is software, not a doctor. Its answers are generated and can be wrong. Do not make medical decisions based on them.

The App never tells you that a food caused your symptoms. It shows you what lined up in your own logs, and how much data is behind that.

• WiseGut is free to download. Some features need a paid subscription.
• Without a subscription you can scan a limited number of meals per day. The rest of the App stays available.
• Plans: a yearly plan and a monthly plan, with a 3 days free trial on first purchase.
• The App Store shows you the current price in your own currency, and the exact trial length, before you confirm anything. That price is the one that applies.
• Payment is taken by Apple, and all billing is handled by Apple.
• Your trial turns into a paid subscription when it ends, unless you cancel before then. It renews on its own until you cancel. Cancel any time in Settings > Apple ID > Subscriptions. Cancelling takes effect at the end of the period you have already paid for.
• We do not refund partial periods. Refund requests go to Apple.

• You can use WiseGut without an account. The first session is anonymous.
• Creating an account keeps your data if you change or reinstall your phone. Without one, a guest session lives only on that device.
• Keep your sign-in details to yourself. You are responsible for what happens under your account.
• You can delete your account at any time from the Settings screen. Our privacy policy sets out exactly what that removes and how to have the rest erased.
• Deleting your account does not cancel your subscription. Cancel that separately with Apple.

You agree not to:

• Use the App for anything unlawful.
• Reverse engineer, decompile or otherwise attack the App.
• Share your account with other people.
• Upload malicious content or spam through any input field.

The content, design, code and branding in WiseGut belong to WiseGut or its licensors. Do not copy, modify or distribute any part of it without written permission.

Your health data stays yours. We claim no ownership of anything you log.

• Answers from WiseGut are generated in real time and will vary.
• We do not guarantee that generated content is accurate or complete.
• These features need an internet connection and can be unavailable.
• We may change or remove them at any time.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, WiseGut shall not be liable for:

• Any health outcome arising from use of the App.
• Inaccurate generated content, ratings or analysis.
• Data loss caused by technical failure.
• Service interruptions or downtime.
• Any indirect, incidental or consequential damages.

Our total liability shall not exceed what you paid for the App in the 12 months before the claim.

Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence.

We may suspend or end your access if you break these terms. Your right to use the App stops immediately. Deletion of data follows our privacy policy.

We may update these terms. Continuing to use the App after a change means you accept it. Material changes will be announced in the App.

These terms are governed by the laws of Germany, and disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Berlin, Germany. If you are a consumer resident in the EU, you keep the protections of the mandatory law of your own country of residence.
